POINT SCORING:
Score a touchdown and earn 6 points by putting the ball in the basket! It’s an easy set up and transport game, perfect for halftime, pre-game, or post-game activities. Plus, it’s dual purpose because you can use the chairs as seats. Whether at a field or in a backyard, this is the perfect pack-and-play set to take with you. Throw and hit any part of the chair, including the uprights, is 3 points (Completion)
DEFENSE: There’s an exciting rule to keep in mind when playing the game. If the defending team catches the ball after it bounces and hits the chair first (without deflection caused by the defense), they have two options. They can either take a knee for 3 points or return the ball. If they choose to return the ball, the defense can come to play. The player is down when the protection touches them with two hands, after which they can throw the ball toward the chair for points. Only one attempt is allowed.
If playing two on 2, 3 on 3, or 4 on four the Offense and Defense can come to play. Blocking or lateral pitches are in play.
AFTER SCORING A TOUCHDOWN:
Kick the ball from the T. If you get through the uprights, it’s 1 point. If it lands in the bucket it’s called a “FITZ”. And it is an instant WIN for the kicking team. GAME OVER.
It becomes in play if the KICK is wide right or wide left. Defense can catch and return. (Same rules for Interception Return above).
The winning team must score 54 points and win by a margin of 2 points. If the opposing team is within 7 points, they can continue playing.
HAIL MARY:
If you are under by more than 8 points. You can step back the manner of steps back equal to how many points you are behind. If you make it into the bucket, you win and are to be carried off in screams as in the Movie “RUDY”.
HOW IT BEGAN OVER 30 YEARS AGO
The Silva Brothers, Michael and Frank, have created QB54, a game perfect for starting a new family tradition. The idea came from their own family’s post-Thanksgiving football games, where they used two garbage cans as goalposts and competed to score points. The game’s objective was to be the first to reach 54 points, a number chosen arbitrarily. It was so much fun that sometimes their neighbors came over to join in and they played for an impressive three hours straight!
